“All American: Homecoming” and “Naomi”<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

All American: Homecoming<\/em>, a spinoff of the hit sports drama television series All American<\/em>, has been picked up by The CW. Written and executive produced by Nkechi Okoro Carroll, the series will follow the HBCU college experience of a young tennis player from Beverly Hills and an elite baseball player from Chicago as they enter the world of college sports. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe world of the HBCUs has not been seen on American television this way,\u201d said Warner Bros. Chairman Channing Dungey in an interview with Deadline<\/a>. \u201cAnd I also appreciate now, with Nkechi Carroll taking us into college, it\u2019s giving us the opportunity to be a little older, a little racier, a little more daring.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another series that will premiere on The CW is Naomi,<\/em> which is written and executive produced by Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship. It\u2019s an adaptation of DC Comics\u2019 Naomi<\/em>, and Kaci Walfall will play the teen superhero. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naomi <\/em>follows a young girl\u2019s journey from her modest northwestern hometown to the great heights of the Multiverse. But when a supernatural event deeply rattles her hometown, Naomi goes on a mission to unearth its origins, and what she finds will defy everything we thought we knew about our heroes. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
