Inspired by soul artists like Marvin Gaye, Sly and the Family Stone, and Nina Simone, the song is filled with freedom and hope.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The encouraging, upbeat song speaks of unity, empowerment, and justice. H.E.R.\u2019s goal is that the tune will merge generations together, as there\u2019s not much that separates the Black Panther\u2019s story in the \u201860s with the current Black Lives Matter movement. \u201cI wanted to create a universal message that represented what is still happening today and how that connects two generations,\u201d she said. \u201cWe\u2019re passing the torch and continuing on Hampton\u2019s work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Judas and the Black Messiah <\/em>is a biopic, written and directed by Shaka King, about the betrayal of the Black Panther Party\u2019s leader Fred Hampton (Daniel Kaluuya) at the hands of FBI informant William O\u2019Neal (Lakeith Stanfield).
