As part of a 2019 deal with Spotify and the Obama\u2019s production company Higher Ground, the former First Lady and President will be producing podcasts exclusive to the music platform. The first title within this partnership,<\/b> The Michelle Obama Podcast,<\/i><\/b><\/a> will debut to Spotify\u2019s nearly 300 million Free and Premium users beginning July 29th.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n Founded in 2018, Higher Ground Productions was created by the Obamas with the motive for the company to be an uplifting platform for new and diverse voices within the realm of the entertainment industry, producing powerful stories that will \u201centertain, inform, and inspire.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n \u201cIn this first season, I\u2019m going to be talking with some of the people I\u2019m closest with,\u201d Michelle Obama said. \u201cIn each episode, we\u2019ll be discussing the relationships that make us who we are. We\u2019ll be talking about the challenges and joys of being a parent or a spouse, the friendships that help us through the toughest times, or the growth we experience when we lean on the colleagues and mentors around us.\u201d\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n \u201cMy hope is that this series can be a place to explore meaningful topics together and sort through so many of the questions we\u2019re all trying to answer in our own lives,\u201d she continued. \u201cPerhaps most of all, I hope this podcast will help listeners open up new conversations\u2014and hard conversations\u2014with the people who matter most to them. That\u2019s how we can build more understanding and empathy for one another.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n Special guests will join Obama in forming these substantial conversations, including Dr. Sharon Malone MD, Obama\u2019s brother Craig Robinson, Valerie Jarett, Conan O\u2019Brien, and Michele Norris.<\/b><\/p>\n Spotify\u2019s Chief Content and Advertising Business Officer Dawn Ostroff released a statement as well, saying: \u201cAt Spotify, we seek to connect listeners with the world\u2019s most authentic and compelling voices.
