Netflix has launched a new \u201cBlack Lives Matter\u201d collection which includes close to 50 titles about racial injustice and the Black experience. \u201cTo be silent is to be complicit. Black lives matter,\u201d Netflix said<\/a>. \u201cWe have a platform, and we have a duty to our Black members, employees, creators and talent to speak up.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The versatile compilation consists of movies, television series, and documentaries ranging from Black dramas and comedies to powerful works about injustice. Upcoming films such as Spike Lee\u2019s \u201cDa 5 Bloods\u201d (releasing Friday, June 12) will be included, along with Ava DuVernay\u2019s \u201c13th\u201d and \u201cWhen They See Us.\u201d TV series such as \u201cThe Innocent Files,\u201d \u201cSeven Seconds,\u201d and \u201cPose\u201d are also featured.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we say \u2018Black Lives Matter,\u2019 we also mean \u2018Black storytelling matters,’\u201d Netflix expressed in a tweet<\/a> today. \u201dWith an understanding that our commitment to true, systemic change will take time \u2013 we\u2019re starting by highlighting powerful and complex narratives about the Black experience.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
