In an exciting announcement, the award-winning novelist Nnedi Okorafor revealed that she has launched a production company which will highlight Africanfuturistic Stories. <\/b><\/p>\n

Titled Africanfuturism Productions, Inc., Okorafor mentioned in a <\/b>Facebook <\/b><\/a>post that television series will be her primary focus at the moment, as film is \u201ctoo restrictive\u201d for her taste. \u00a0At the time being, no further information about her company has been given. <\/b><\/p>\n

Africanfuturism explores the intersection of the African Diaspora with technology. It is considered to be \u201ca cultural aesthetic, philosophy of science, and philosophy of history,\u201d all merged as one. Perhaps the most mainstream example is <\/b>Black Panther<\/i><\/b>, but it goes much deeper than this. Take Okorafor\u2019s novels, for example. It is within her veins to share these Africanfuturistic stories, as we see with <\/b>Hello, Rain<\/i><\/b>, <\/b>Binti<\/i><\/b>, and, of course, <\/b>Who Fears Death<\/i><\/b>. The latter is being developed into an HBO series by the celebrated <\/b>Game of Thrones<\/i><\/b> creator George RR Martin. It is unknown whether Okorafor will adapt a selected few of her other novels into TV series for Africanfuturism Productions, but we sure hope so. <\/b><\/p>\n

As the author of multiple Africanfuturistic works, we sincerely can\u2019t think of anyone else who would be better suited for this new venture.
