Shortly following the second season pickup of Lena Waithe\u2019s Boomerang reboot, BET has ordered yet another series, <\/b>Twenties<\/i><\/b>, from the Award-winning screenwriter. Waithe, who said she wants to change the face of BET \u201cby being phenomenal,\u201d is surely making her mark on the network and beyond. <\/b><\/p>\n
<\/b>Created by Waithe back when she was in her early twenties, the series follows the lives of Hattie, a queer black girl, and her two straight best friends, Marie and Nia. The single-camera scripted show deals with love, friendship, and learning to cope with life as a young adult. Waithe will executive produce alongside Susan Fales-Hill, Rishi Rajani, and Andrew Coles. <\/b><\/p>\n

Outside of her projects on BET, Laithe\u2019s popular Showtime drama series <\/b>The Chi<\/i><\/b> is now in its second season.
