At only fourteen, Marsai Martin just made history as the youngest person ever to sign a first-look deal with Universal Studios. The <\/b>Black-ish<\/i><\/b> actress has commendable ambitions, and recently became Hollywood\u2019s youngest executive producer with her upcoming movie<\/b> Little<\/i><\/b>. <\/b><\/p>\n

This exciting new deal with Universal will allow Martin to create original content under her Genius Productions company that will resonate with her audience, especially young women.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWorking with emerging talent is a cornerstone of Universal’s overall slate strategy, and Marsai is a star on the rise,\u201d <\/b>expressed<\/b><\/a> Peter Cramer, the president of Universal Pictures. \u00a0\u201cShe is not only tremendously talented in front of the camera but offers a unique perspective as a creator and producer that will resonate with all audiences. We look forward to moviegoers getting to see how brilliant she is in <\/b>Little<\/i><\/b> and watching her evolve as a filmmaker here at Universal.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

The first project being developed by Genius Productions is a comedy film called <\/b>StepMonster<\/i><\/b>, which tells the story of a teenage girl, played by Martin, who must adapt to life with a new stepmother. <\/b><\/p>\n

Universal has signed deals with many Black creatives, including Kevin Hart, Jordan Peele, Janelle Mon<\/b>\u00e1<\/b>e Will Packer, and Malcolm D. Lee. <\/b><\/p>\n

“I am so excited for the magic I’ll be able to create and produce with Universal,” said Martin. \u201cMy goal is to show young women and girls that our voices and ideas matter and you are never too young to dream BIG!”<\/b><\/p>\n
