It\u2019s set as an imminent release, so fans can expect the album to arrive as a surprise, coming \u201cinto the world fully formed at some mysterious and unexpected moment,\u201d said Solange. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jazz is at the core of this LP, Solange revealed to the <i>Times<\/i>. \u00a0\u201cBut with electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle,\u201d she said. The album, which is still unnamed, was recorded in New Orleans, her hometown in Jamaica, California, and the state\u2019s Topanga Canyon. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The album is described by the artist as more \u201cwarm, sensual, and fluid\u201d than <i>A Seat at the Table,<\/i> and less focused on the self as the main subject. \u201cI realize how much wider, figuratively and literally, my work could be if I took myself away as subject,\u201d she told the <i>Times<\/i>. Despite her previous album receiving a Grammy nomination and earning her first Grammy for the hit single \u201cCranes in the Sky,\u201d Solange still has the jitters about releasing her new body of work into the world. \u201cI have this fear living in my body about releasing work,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t know any artist that doesn\u2019t feel that before they hit the \u2018send\u2019 button.\u201d Solange will reportedly be working on and editing the album up until its release.
