Cole announced his new album and its prompt release date. In just three days time, J. Cole\u2019s fifth studio album, <em>KOD<\/em>, will be delivered to the public.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the artist tweeted an ambiguous open invitation: \u201cNYC. Come through. Couple hours from now. First come first serve.\u201d Held at New York\u2019s Gramercy Theatre, there were no phones, cameras, or bags allowed, and no press list or guess list.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bdotTM\/status\/986050358215696384\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brian Miller<\/a> from Rap Radar, the event was an exclusive listening session of the entire album, consisting of \u201cabout 12 songs,\u201d with one song titled \u201c1985.\u201d After the event, J. Cole revealed the forthcoming release date of the <em>KOD<\/em> album via Twitter. Naturally, fans were curious about the meaning behind <em>KOD<\/em>, speculating that the acronym could stand for \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dope_since91\/status\/986053074803482624\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">King of Dreamville<\/a>,\u201d \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/h1ding_\/status\/986054107398995968\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kiss of Death<\/a>,\u201d or even \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/moiselgado\/status\/986054196943249410\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kendrick on Dreamville<\/a>.\u201d However, Miller stated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bdotTM\/status\/986047103792230402\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">separate tweet<\/a> that \u201cKOD\u201d has three different subtitles: \u201ckidz on drugs,\u201d \u201cking overdose,\u201d and \u201ckill our demonz.\u201d Furthermore, the album was recorded in only two weeks time.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t the first time that the North Carolina-born rapper has surprised fans with an album. Back in 2014, he also took to Twitter to declare the release of <em>2014 Forest Hills Drive, <\/em>while announcing his most recent album, <em>4 Your Eyez Only<\/em>, with an iTunes pre-order page.<\/p>\n<p><em>KOD<\/em> will be J.
